The Rolex Sea-Dweller Ref. 126600 is a testament to both deep-sea engineering prowess and refined design elegance. Launched in 2017 as the 50th-anniversary edition and presented at BaselWorld, this model expands the Sea-Dweller lineage with a larger 43 mm Oystersteel case, thickened to 15.2 mm, designed to accommodate broader wrists. It features a flat sapphire crystal with a Cyclops lens over the date—a first for the Sea-Dweller line—integrating a signature Rolex design element with enhanced practicality.

The unidirectional bezel showcases a virtually scratchproof black Cerachrom insert, engraved with a 60-minute scale coated in platinum via PVD, enabling precise dive time measurement. The dial is a deep, intense black, with oversized Chromalight luminescent hour markers and hands that cast a long-lasting blue glow—ideal for low-light visibility. The “Sea-Dweller” name appears in red, paying homage to the original model’s design.

Constructed from Rolex’s proprietary Oystersteel (904L), the case resists corrosion and maintains an exceptional polished finish even in harsh environments. The bracelet continues the heritage of the Oyster design, now reinforced with a wider 22 mm lug, and equipped with the Oysterlock clasp and the Glidelock system, allowing up to 20 mm of fine adjustment, plus an additional 27 mm via the Fliplock extension, making it ideal for use over a diving suit.

Inside beats the powerful Rolex Calibre 3235—an in-house, COSC-certified automatic movement featuring the Chronergy escapement, boasting a 70-hour power reserve, increased magnetic resistance, and 14 patents worth of innovations. With a water resistance of 1,220 meters (4,000 feet) and equipped with a Helium Escape Valve (HEV), this watch is purpose-built for saturation divers and serious underwater missions.
