The Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Selfwinding Flying Tourbillon Extra-Thin (RD#3) ref. 26660ST.OO.1356ST.02 represents one of the Manufacture's most significant technical achievements. Housed in a 37 mm stainless steel Royal Oak case, it is powered by the ultra-thin Caliber 2968, the first selfwinding flying tourbillon movement ever developed by Audemars Piguet for a 37 mm timepiece. The watch features a striking plum "Petite Tapisserie" dial, enhanced by applied 18k white gold hour markers and luminescent Royal Oak hands. Measuring only 8.1 mm in thickness, the case preserves the elegant proportions of the Royal Oak while showcasing the flying tourbillon at 6 o'clock. The sapphire case back reveals the beautifully finished movement with its openworked 22k pink gold oscillating weight. Unlike the .01 reference, this .02 version is the standard production model and does not feature the commemorative "50 Years" rotor.
