The Rolex Submariner 1680 (1978) is a vintage legend that introduced the date function to the Submariner lineup. The 40mm stainless steel case, combined with an acrylic crystal, retains the classic aesthetics of the original Submariners.

The matte black dial, with tritium lume hour markers and hands, has aged beautifully over time, often developing a desirable patina. The red "Submariner" text (on earlier versions) makes certain examples particularly collectible.
