The Pulsar P2 14K Gold occupies a foundational place in the history of electronic watchmaking. Introduced in the early 1970s by Hamilton under the Pulsar name, the P2 refined the revolutionary concept first seen in the original P1 “Time Computer.” Its instantly recognizable cushion-shaped case, integrated bracelet design, and hidden red LED display embodied the futuristic optimism of the era. Crafted in solid 14k gold, the P2 combined advanced electronic technology with the precious materials traditionally reserved for fine mechanical watches. Unlike conventional displays, the time remained invisible until activated via a side pusher, illuminating vivid red LED numerals against a dark mineral crystal surface. The module represented a major technical achievement for its time, using a quartz-regulated electronic movement at a period when digital horology was still in its infancy. Famously worn by public figures and featured in popular culture, the P2 remains one of the most historically significant and collectible early digital watches, appreciated both for its technological importance and its unmistakably 1970s aesthetic.
