The Patek Philippe Nautilus Chronograph ref. 5980/1A-001 is one of the most celebrated modern Nautilus references, marking the introduction of the first in-house automatic chronograph within the collection. Crafted entirely in stainless steel, the watch preserves the iconic porthole-inspired case and integrated bracelet originally designed by Gérald Genta while incorporating a technically sophisticated flyback chronograph complication. The striking blue gradient dial with horizontal embossed Nautilus pattern features a distinctive monocounter at 6 o'clock, combining the 60-minute and 12-hour chronograph totalizers into a single, highly legible display. A date aperture at 3 o'clock and luminous white gold hands and hour markers complete the balanced dial architecture. Powering the watch is the manufacture Caliber CH 28-520 C, featuring a column wheel, vertical clutch, and flyback functionality, all visible through the sapphire display caseback. Produced from 2006 until 2013, the 5980/1A-001 has become one of the most sought-after stainless steel Patek Philippe sports watches.
