The Rolex Submariner 14060 is widely regarded as one of the purest expressions of the Submariner lineage. Produced from 1990 until 2010, this reference captures the essence of Rolex’s dive watch heritage with its clean, symmetrical dial—uncluttered by a date window or Cyclops lens. Its minimalist aesthetic appeals to collectors and enthusiasts who value balance, simplicity, and historical authenticity.

Crafted from 904L stainless steel (later called Oystersteel), the 14060 features a 40mm Oyster case that is water-resistant to 300 meters (1,000 feet), making it a professional-grade diving instrument. The unidirectional rotating bezel with an aluminum insert provides essential functionality for measuring dive times while preserving a vintage appeal.

Early models of the 14060 were powered by the Caliber 3000 movement, later upgraded to the Caliber 3130 in the 14060M variant introduced in 2001. These automatic movements are known for their reliability, precision, and robustness, although they are not chronometer-certified in the original 14060 versions—further emphasizing its tool-watch purity.

The watch features a black dial with white gold-trimmed hour markers and Mercedes hands, all filled with luminous material for excellent legibility underwater. The Oyster bracelet with hollow end links and stamped clasp enhances the vintage feel, though later models included solid end links and an improved clasp for better durability.
